Parker withdraws from NBA Draft

Former Northwestern guard T.J. Parker has withdrawn from the NBA Draft, the Daily Northwestern reported. Parker cited injuries and lost practice time as factors in his decision.

Parker is not eligible to return to NU due to his hiring of agent, Marc Fleisher. Parker now hopes to play in Europe and try his hand at the NBA Draft next year.

While Parker may have talked to several NBA teams before the upcoming draft, a selection seemed to be a longshot. He has the ability to have a reasonable European career, but his height and shooting ability are major liabilities at the pro level.

The following story in the Tribune claims that Parker did not hire an agent, and that he'll return to the NU team in the Fall.

The Daily Northwestern article is correct. The Tribune article appears to have been taken from the news wires.
